Default SLS & ACE

To add insult to injury, following my recent ABS problems (see here) which you kindly helped me with, and which I think is a wheel sensor, I now have major problems with the SLS and ACE.

In short, the ACE, SLS warning lights came on yesterday evening after setting off, and the speedometer stopped working.
Fortunately I was close to home, but by the time (<0.5 miles) I got there, the car was on the bump stops (I drove home very slowly !). The ABS light is still on (presumably from the ABS problem posted above), but the HDC, TC lights are now off. I've checked the fuses and they all seem to be ok.

Any thoughts ? SLABS gone perhaps ?

Dave

Why guess, go find a shop with the proper scanner and get the codes read for the ABS, SLS and the ACE, none of which have anything to do with the other except for the ABS and the SLS. Depending on the ABS fault, the ECU may not allow the SLS to reactivate.
So quit playing with it and get it into a shop ASAP.
Let us know what they find.

ok, will do...

Regarding SLS and ACE not being related, doesn't ACE take the vehicle speed in from SLABS and lock the rollbars if it doesn't get it ?

Damn, found my Rave CD finally, it looks like it does:

Rave 60-18:
"A road speed signal is transmitted to the ACE ECU as a pulsed digital signal from the Self-levelling/Anti-lock Braking
System (SLABS) ECU. The road speed signal is used by the ACE ECU for on and off-road roll compensation."

Anyhow, its going into the garage ASAP - will let you all know what happens.
Thanks for your help !

The SLS and the ACE will not effect each other, you need to go get the codes read and have both system reset.
As for the ABS, yes, one of the speed sensors gives the ACE a cue as to speed so it knows to work on a limited basis, slow speeds or full operation above 25 MPH, but it will not cause the SLS to go flat.
