Default Smog fail: need OBD2 connector mounting plate / trim piece

I passed smog check on the merits, but failed because my OBD2 connector is just dangling under the dash. From the few pictures I've been able to find on the web, it looks like I am missing the plastic trim piece that has the hole that the OBD2 connector mounts into -- does anyone know what that part number is or, better yet, have one to sell?

In case I have to fabricate it, can anyone post a picture of it in place (NA 2004 Disco2)? Thanks in advance, Mike

Failed for no bracket!?
Wtf!?
That is ridiculous!
My 04 has no bracket either, but as stupid as Va's laws are, I don't think they care about a bracket.
Unless your in NVa, they don't even check ob2 for state inspection here.
Wow. Good luck with that.

Nevada, actually. Most of the California regulations but waaayyyyyyyyyyy cheaper. And no state income tax. And open carry is legal. So is prostitution, except in counties with more than 400K people. Which happen to also be the same two counties that require smog checks.

There's a joke in there somewhere....mike

Went to two different salvage yards yesterday and found five Disco's between them -- three didn't have the trim piece and of the other two one was already broken. Managed to salvage the fifth one and install it. Going back for smog check #3 today! mike

Can you post a picture of it?
I was suprised mine didn't have a bracket when I got it, but after some looking around for a place for it, I just assumed it didn't have one.
Thanks

Its not a bracket so to speak. It is a thin plastic trim panel that covers the underside of the dash. The OBD connector just pops in from the back. A real POS, but at least it not made of cardboard, like the passenger side.

Wonder how many lives were saved by fixing this menace to society dangling connector. Read about it all the time, millions killed by such things. Just another over-reach government program out of control.

And really...a fail because you changed the color of the vacuum lines.

Makes me sleep so much better....knowing that the government is keeping all of this dangerous stuff in check...lol.
