Default soft spring and 180F thermostat questions

are they the same? AB sells the white soft spring but i cant seem to find where it states the temp of the thermostat.

this Rovers North part states temp, but is it the same temp as the soft spring?

The OEM Land Rover one in the Rovers North link is what you want, not the Proline one or the unmarked AB one or a Motorrad.

I just order a "soft spring" thermostat - Britpart #PEL500110 advertised as a 82°C / 179.6°F. I found that the internal Thermostat ring is actually marked 78°C / 172.4°F. I got mine off of amazon. I have not yet had temps over 198°F sitting in rush hour traffic.
This is my post from earlier this week: https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...h-temps-78597/
The thermostat I replaced was a Motorrad 180°F.

I have same T-stat you talking about, got it from British Pacific last year, when I was pressed for time & they were close buy so I went & picked it up, & been on my D2 for almost a year now, same as your experience, even tested it at idle & I let it run for 30 min without moving truck,,in 90*+ amdiant temp, with A/C running , it worked fine,, Temp went up & down 188 to 197* every 40-45 seconds (when electric fan kicked in lowered temp), while driving much lower like in 185 to 194 max,,, (quality of actual T-stat inside plastic housing looks very good),,
But since it's a Britpart & more experienced forum members don't have good experience with the brand, I am hesitant to recommend it, since forum members can get a Genuine 180* diesel T-stat from lucky8 for around $72 ,, & it's %100 proven to work accurately,,,

You mean this one?
Low Temp Thermostat : Low Temp Thermostat

Its the same Britpart #PEL500110.

Search for the best price and purchase from your vendor of choice.

Bottom line is it works well to reduce you operating temps...as long as you don't have other issues with your cooling system.

I guess you are right, about if it works & reduces temp, but genuine
T-stat is know gor consistency & accuracy,, Britpart's are known for hit & miss, mine has been good so far,, but no guarantee if all will work good, I guess time will tell,, when more ppl use them, & post results,
