I'd probably just replace it with a working used transmission. Sounds like a lot of work replacing clutches AND welding the case.

Had the truck towed to a friends shop. He's gonna look at welding the piece back in with the unit still in the truck. Man that will be slick if it's possible. Worst case I know where a several donor trannys are. 1 works, 1 works but has a crack case (can weld), and another is a donor case for mine.

My friend did a amazing job welding the case in the truck. Changed the filter, put it back together. No go. Oh well. I'm just amazed how the truck won't even creep forward. I just remembered that I did the final fluid check with the truck off and not running. I doubt that would make the difference. Another friend that runs a tranny shop isn't so keen on the ZF's. He thinks all the clutches are fried. Probably right. Makes me want to poor some brake fluid in and swell the clutches to prove that's the issue!

Thank you for your post, and for posting about your problem in three different forum threads.

I understand you are frantic, but posting about the same problem in three different threads does nothing but add to clutter. It does not help you get the help you seek.

And here I am, adding to the clutter …
