lt doesn't bother me at all. People would call my old Land Rover a Jeep.

No worries, l never even corrected them. I guess Jeep was the original 4x4

A bit like people in the U.K. calling their vacuum cleaner a "Hoover"

l don't have anyone calling my new Defender a Jeep. ln fact l sometimes wish it WAS a Jeep. l would love a LWB Wrangler, but it's not a "Commercial Vehicle" so l couldn't put it through my LTD company like my Defender Commercial

Thats why l am looking at the Grenadier. They do a 2 seat and 5 seat Commercial version. Difficult choice though as the more l drive my new Defender the more l like it. l couldn't go back to my old 2005 Defender for sure.

 

Someone called My TD5 or V8 "nice looking jeeep" or something on instagram.
And that someone was one of those spammers who start following you, like almost every post and "draw" cars and try to get you as a customer like that.

Yeah, deleted the comment + blocked that user, just like any other similiar "artists" accounts.

If You want someone to become Your customer, have atleast that bit of a respect to them, that You speak of things with correct names/brands.

Sorry for rant.

 

A kid called my Series 2A an ugly Jeep. I was more offended by the word Jeep than ugly.

 

Not everyone is into cars like we are.

I would say that everyone who called my Land Rover a Jeep, just didn't know about cars. To them, every old style 4x4 is a "Jeep" because they see that as a vehicle type rather than a brand.

They almost certainly had no idea that it might be offensive to Land Rover owners. They most likely thought it was a compliment.

Sadly my "Jeep" sorry Land Rover Defender is no more, replaced by a "Discovery" sorry new Defender.

 

The other one that got me was when I had all 3 of my beautiful classic LR’s parked in the driveway. Behind them the garage door was open, where my wife’s Mustang was parked. A kid walking by had the gall to say “I like your Mustang “.
