Ok, I scheduled our safety course for Saturday morning, leaving me enough time to work on the Rover afterwards.

Thanks for all your feedback on what gun to choose and what ammo goes with it. Once I get the basics down I will be able to read the posts again and actually understand what you guys are all talking about.

Can I ask what brand and size they are? Thanx!!

like sloppy has...
kimber 1911 chambered in .45
get the custom tle/rl 2 so you have the little rail under the slide to mount a tactical light to...

kimber, colt, and sig make fantastic 1911 style guns

i have owned 2 kimbers.

i would say for a person stepping up to spend a grand plus on a .45 i would not say a accessory rail is the best thing. but tritium sights are a must have.

rock island arms makes a real nice 1911 too, and for less than half the cost of a kimber or colt... a gunsmith i know bought one just to see if it was crap, put about 2000 rounds through it without cleaning it and it never gave him a single problem...

two good sites to buy guns, you just have to arrange to have it shipped to an ffl holder, pretty much all pawn shops have the liscense and will do the transfer for like 25 bucks...

I am really wanting a Dan Wesson 1911 commander chambered in 10mm. It was an $1100 pistols but who knows what they are selling for now.

When you carry and for home protection you dont want something to big, if you cant hold it still or recover from the recoil it does youi no good.
Not to mention when you miss where is the bullet gong to wind up? In the neighbors bedroom?
I carry a .380, same size as a 9mm (caliber wise) only less powder behind it.
