i have a 2002 se7 it does not have harman kardon but it does have the 12 speakers i was wondering if i could use the existing sub box and just put 2 of my own 7 inch subs and my own amp. not sure if its possible or if anyone has really done it before.

well first off... The rear door of the disco makes a terrible rattle when putting anything more powerful then stock subs. I have found this out myself :P

Second.. If you would like to cut some metal on the door you can put 7in subs in.

You can place your own amp. You have two choices. Run all new speaker wires to each speaker, amp and stereo. Or use existing wiring to speakers but you will need to cut or tap into the harness under the driver seat that feeds into the stock amp. There is a wiring diagram for this. Currently that is my setup from Previous Owner.

To run the wires properly you will most likely need to drop the headliner and remove the door panels. Plan on spending an entire day for this project.
