Fire? Sounds like your front amp is out...

Well, after reading RAVE, your amp is under the front driver's seat and is a 4 channel (mid-line system). I would bet the lines run through the center console up to each door and a-pillar..

Ik tested the speaker harness and I have no voltage at the harness. Speakers are good...wiring is bad.... must be the fire claiming more wires.....ill pull the center console tonight and check the wires again.....

Look under the seat before you do that. Make sure you have an amp there. If not, I would test voltage at the back of the head unit and then follow from there...

Where was your fire? Surely it didnt melt the voice coils, but if you got any water or extinguisher powder in them, it may have. Still weird, though.

Question

Sorry for hijacking your thread but I have no sound in my pillar speakers and upper front door speakers on both sides - is there anything obvious I should check?

The rest of audio system is fine. Only thing I have done so far is clean connector to underseat amp on passenger side.

Just thought you might know more than me having taken things apart already?

The upper mid speakers and the a pillar speakers get the same feed from the amp under the driver seat....if all four speakers don't work...check the amp and harness and then check the speakers with a meter

Thanks for that - cleaned connector to amp under seat with contact clenaer and bingo all speakers now working!

I think this car has had a serious interior steam clean before I bought it and the cleaner didn't realise that there was audio under the seats - I had to strip strip, clean and grease the CD changer to get it to wokr. All fine now though.

Many thanks again
