Default Spare tire carrier removal.

Need help. Want to remove the spare tire carrier on a Disco 2. One bolt is loose and need to be welded. Do I need to remove the interior back panel? Or, just remove the nut from outside the mount? Thank you.

Remove the back panel being careful not to break the plastic retainers (they are like $1 each if you do), slit the moisture barrier again being careful to leave the plastic in good enough shape to tape back, and underneath that you will wee the bolts that hold the carrier on. Its easy. Good Luck!

break all the retainers. pull the sub off. and replace it with a stainless steel panel from Columbia Overland. link on our club site.

Yeah, then rig up a small table, first aid kit, and fire extinguisher. It will look sweet!
