This is an easy job, but fyi in case anyone's interested, here are some pics of the installation of a spare-tire adapter I got from Atlantic British. An easier and cheaper solution is to turn the carrier upside-down, though that also appears to raise the tire a little higher than this. I needed to make a modification because the tires I recently put on were too tall to fit the carrier without hitting the bumper.
