Spark Plug Condition after 10,000 miles
I removed the plugs to check the condition of #6, due to a P0306 code. Decided to swap it with the #4. Did remove them all to check on them...
Diagnosing the plug what is normal to see? Is some oil to be expected?
Fuel? Obviously coolant is no good...
Pic without the socket on it is from the #6, the other was from #4. Threads on all the plugs had oil on them. cleaned the threads, new anti seize and replaced.
Opinions?

Look at the end and see if the center electrode is worn to the point that it is recessed in the ceramic. Bosch plat plugs wear out way too fast. Stick with the OE plug or NGK would be my suggestion.
There should never be any oil on the spark plugs. A little carbon buildup, perhaps, but no oil. That indicates a serious engine problem such as worn out piston rings, worn out valves and guides, i would do a compression test on the cylinders with oil on the plugs. Valves may be worn.
I don't know how much he knows for sure since it was my first conversation with him, but the Service Manager at Sacramento Land Rover told me to ONLY use the OE plugs because they are finding random issues with other brands and styles. He says the OE are the most reliable.
I had called him to verify all my Recall work had been completed. (Yup)
