Speakers REALLY NEED HELP
I bought a set of 4 inch speakers for the upper part of the front doors of my land rover discovery ( 2000 ) as that is what i was told I needed. I got home and the speaker its self looks the same size as stock but the housing for the new speaker is to big so it would stick an inch outside of the door pannel into the car
I DONT WANT TO CUT INTO MY DOOR PANNEL

Do you have the Harmon Kardon system? I did, as well as a few blown speakers, so I ended up getting Alpine E Series 6.5 inch for all the door woofers. I used the signal that goes to the mids up front, and got rid of the little mid speaker all together. I retained the stock head unit and am pretty happy with the sound, especially for only $80.

What year Disco do you have ProRiderRoadKing? Will those fit in my 2001 D2 SD? When I measure the speaker cover on the door panel its only 5.5 inches, but I haven't looked underneath yet at the actual speaker.
I've got 1999, I would imagine the speaker sizes are the same. The speakers aren't a perfect fit but they fit well enough to be secure and not rattle. It's not going to be audiophile sound quality or anything but it's definitely much better than stock.
I used a pair of Pioneer 2 ways and they sound great with the stock amp. They were $30 off Amazon. For the money, you can't go wrong. In my '04, the 6 1/2's in the front door are wired as subs and the mids and tweets in the door and a-pillar are connected to the higher level signals.
