Default speed sensors

Ive started getting the three amigos a little more lately. There appears to be more brake dust on my wheels. I was going to try and clean the speed sensors. What would be the best way to go about this? From the rave cd it looks like i have to remove the hub, right? Can i just use brake cleaner or should i use something else? Thanks in advance.

Don't take the sensors out just power scrub your wheels to get rid of the dust and brake squeak, then go to a small Rover shop and ask them to read your codes and clear them, you'll be fine.
By the way, what brand of pads are you running?

Im using bendix pads.I havent heard of too many on here using them. I was going to waituntil they wore down a little and get OEM pads or maybe kevlar. Which do you reccomend. My current pads only have about 15k in them. Should i change them now?

My rotors also have a small lip on the edge. im assuming they need to be turned. Do you know the nominal thicness before they should be replaced? I figure that could be giving enough vibration to set off tres hombres?

Ill try the pressure wash this weekend.I was planning on doing an ATF engine flush too.
thanks for the advice

How many miles on your truck? As for the excess brak dust, that is your problem, dust makes a squeak that the sensors will pick up and throw a fault.
Leave the sensors alone and look towards buying a good set of well know ceramic pads, no factory pads and no kevlar. Kevlar pads are to hard for standard rotors, they eat up a set of rotors in a heart beat. I run Kevlar pads but I have a set of DBA rotors that are very hard and hold up well with any of the Kevlar pads, currently, I have nearly 65,000 miles on mine with plenty of pads left.

What would be a good brand of pad? Ferodo *and Lockeed are all i can find that arent kelvar or factory.

Should i be worried about the lip on the rotors?

Call Tony at Cerrones, 650-365-4145 and he can tell you of a fairly new ceramic pad they have been using with really great results.
