Default For Spike: I'm back...steering guard installed

Had to remove the front bumper to get the Mantec Steering Guard on, but now I am ready for the Nevada desert trails this summer. Took a few hours, and my Dad was great company and a ride to the hardware store for a !@#$@@! 13mm wrench...left mine at home!

Note to Self: use the ruler/slash measuring tape/level when working on a sloped driveway...I will have to make a time consuming adjustment when I do the drive shaft flex coupling later this month. Or I can wait until I get a steel bumper - what are cosmetics on a 4x4.

Best,
Dave

So for Nevada, you are going to need Diff. guards and sliders, any plans for them yet?
How about your front drive shaft, have you rebuilt or replaced it yet?

Hi Mike,
Yes, I do have a diff guard, and have rebuilt the front drive shaft. No sliders as of yet. Between a lift, bumpers and sliders, there's a lot of ways to spend money. Right now, my priority is to get the flex coupling on the rear shaft, since I can see and feel the old one going.

Best,
Dave

The guys at lucky8 say that this conversion kit will work on and 03-04, I specifically asked about my 03 having a shorter rear drive shaft and they said it would work.

Lucky8 Llc. - Take the road less traveled...

I haven't bought it yet.... but it seems to be about the cheapest kit to do away with the rotoflex.
