Default Spots

I was washing the disco about a week ago, before the temps dropped to much, and I noticed that on my hood there seems to be rough spots. I cant tell if its something sticky or if the paint has melted (I noticed them around summer the first time). Does anyone know if the paint has been known to melt in intense heat or do you think its something else? From what I can see it doesn't look like sap or anything like that and it wont rub off, but i have no idea.

Secondly, about so different spots. The disco has a few scratches that I would like to fix, has anyone used the Autosharp touch up pen Atlantic British offers? Its seems like that would be a good product and they have all LR colors to accurately match. If you recommend this pen or have something better please let me know!

Last, does goo be gone work on auto paint? i have parked under the pine tree one to many times...

Sounds like it is time to get out the old clay bar and give your hood a work out. Once you have done that then use some Scratch Dr. to make the scratches and finsih of with a good coat of wax.

X2 on the clay bar. If you are just getting one at a parts store, the Mothers bar works well.

Ok that sounds like a plan (when its warm again)! Do you all recommend a certain wax? I used one that i hated because it left behind a TON of white powder. So any recommendations?

Thanks guys!

Turtle makes a really good clay bar. All my friends use it and they say it works great.

If you don't mind a 3 step process, Mother's california gold is excellent.
