Default spraying out engine compartment

when I'm spraying out the engine compartment where do I absolutely need to avoid? went down to the coast this weekend and want to get everything sprayed off.

-keep in mind I don't have any manuals to be able to identify specific parts yet so general directions would help.

thanks.

Spray the whole engine, D2's love the water and are not prone to have electrical problems like the D1's are.
I have power washed my engine once a month for the last 4 years with no problems.

What about Disco I's...What areas should you avoid spraying? Distributor, alternator, etc?

If you have an old one with a distributor, you dont want it wet as well as the ECU on the firewall.
Older vehicles will act up a little more because of bad or dirty connections and old wires, so just go at them a little easier.

Be careful around the cabin intake foam. These are pretty delicate. I need to replace mine.
