Default Spring choice for offroad bumpers

I'm talking with Dobinsons USA about new suspension. I don't really want to lift the truck(?) but I want it to be able to support the bumpers and any reasonable weight in the rear. Which coils do y'all think I should get?

It is going to depend on the bumper and/or winch you will be mounting, i.e., the total weight. The chart in your first post shows the weight capacities of the different springs for you to match it up.

Just bumpers, no winch. I was hoping for more insight, like go with such and such spring because the back ends of these sag. As stated I'd like to stay around stock height, and the 'Standard height' springs don't list a weight rating.

40kg = ~88lbs that seems a little light for a full plate bumper

More insight could probably be gained from the good people at Dobinsons.

I guess I'm crazy for thinking you guys would know more about our Discos than they do.

Yes: and why would you think a manufacturer of an item would not know what they intended that item to be for. I am not familiar with that brand and have not seen any feedback on them so I can only go by the info that they have listed and what you have posted. So maybe I am crazy for thinking you have all the info you need right there if that is the brand you choose to go with.

If it’s just steel bumpers with no winch I’d would think simple 1or 2” spring spacers would be enough. Probably cheaper than springs and you wouldn’t change the ride quality that much. I don’t think my ride hieght changed that drastically with a couple hundred extra pounds onboard either but I didn’t have the stock springs for very long.

I believe these are factory coils, old and saggy, I would prefer new coils. Does anyone know of any coils that will hold the weight and not give much lift?

Passenger:
Front - 19"
Rear - 18.5"

Driver:
Front - 19"
Rear - 18.5"

Look for OE or aftermarket rear springs for the SE7 models.

With just bumpers a medium duty spring will work. HD would be a good idea with a winch or more weight in the rear. “If” your D2 has the original springs I would not just slap a spacer in to make up for the weight. The ride is going to be terrible due to the springs already being saggy/sprung, and the added weight is just going to make it ride/drive like crap.
