Default Spring spacer thickness

This might be a stupid question, but for the suspension on the D2 does a 1" thick spacer correlate with a 1" lift? I've read that applications on some other vehicles have different ratios but imagine that has a lot to do with the coil spring location in the suspension geometry. I'll probably have the opportunity to machine some out for free in the near future but won't get a chance to install them until spring or summer.

EDIT: For clarification, if I buy something sold as a 1" spacer lift for the D2 which lifts the truck by 1", what is the actual thickness of the spacer?

If you measure from center of hub to fender with your current springs - and add a 1” spacer below your spring- you should gain that 1” in height.

Thanks for reply but upon reading my initial post I don't think that I posed my question very well. I know that if I buy something called a 1" spacer lift it will increase the height by 1" as you have laid out, however, what I actually want to know/confirm is the thickness of the actual chunk of metal used as the spacer. I assume it's 1" (or near enough) but you know what they say about assuming...

In my experience- when I have sourced coil spacers - they have been milled in 1” increments-

so I have -
pair of front and rear 2”,
pair of front and rear 1” -
which in the beginning I was mixing an matching based on leveling and weight I stock ( bumpers, permanent equipment in back)

I also know for example - that a water pump pulley from a mid 90’s Ford ranger will act as a perfect bolt on rear coil spacer

I have also made my own..

Thanks for sharing your experience, I will plan on producing a part that is 1" thick.

Using D1 spring seats on the rear of the D2 gains you a 1" lift. No need to make anything new.

I've made my own spacers a few times for the D2. Yes, 1" of spacer equals 1" of lift.
