I may go with the yellow wires this time around, and yup, the boots gives them an added protection, but now I just want the fault to go away... been using wifey's car and don't think she might fancy me taking it from her this coming week.

Thanks. I had everything powdercoated and the rest that was high heat was cermanic coated including the y pipes to try to help keep heat off the front drive shaft. I went with the champion platinum. I don't know what kind of mileage u have but I would reccomend the front o2 sensors for sure. I got the walker's off of rock auto with shipping for a little over $100. Everybody kept buying Bosch ones and kept getting faulty ones. I read somewhere in the forums where the folks across the pond replace theirs with walkers when the go out and I can tell why. I haven't had any issues......knock on wood!!

Hi All! ...glad to quickly report that we got the issue resolved, thank you all for your input. Plug in Cyl 8 was cracked. I replaced ALL plugs, cleared the codes, and after 4 miles driving around, no codes yet and truck behaves nicely.
What bothers me is that the cracked plug originally came from Cyl 2 and never threw a code or did I see a spark, I swapped them after swapping wires trying to pinpoint if either the wires or the plugs were bad. Wires weren't, since code resurfaced after swapping Cyl 8 with Cyl 7; and it even resurfaced once more after swapping plug from Cyl 2 with Cyl 8's. So that's why I ruled these two out and went onto replacing the Coil Packs with a new pair, but code popped up once more, this time not only Cyl 8, but Cyl 4 too.
So based on the above I went and bought new plugs (Champion Platinum this time, had Bosch Platinum +4), and ordered new set of wires (Kingsborne), since after close inspection while changing coils, saw some with minor cracks and chipped, but at this point I still did not know about the cracked plug.
I will upload pics of the old plugs, some are pretty dirty, maybe you guys can pinpoint other issues from looking at them.
Other "issue" that might pop up down the road is that Cyl 1 plug did not go in easily and far enough. First time I replaced the plugs, this one gave me some trouble getting the old out, and the new in... since it was 30K miles or so ago, I totally forgot that event; today, it also wasn't easy to get it out, nor getting the new one in, for sure it did not go all in, it's not going in as it should, might had been some issue from previous owner. But no signs of leakage there, actually plug is pretty clean, but you do see that something is wrong with the threads.
Again, I'll be posting some pics tomorrow for you guys to take a look.

Glad you got that figured out! I've also been fighting a #8 misfire and like you I've seen a #8 misfire with an occasional #4 misfire. I've already replaced coils, wires and plugs but I'm going to go back and double check everything after hearing how yours resolved.

...yup, check everything well; if all is in place, just stick your hands behind the coils to ensure wires are well connected on that (I would personally hate to find out one is not seated well, as much as I dread not getting the new set of wires when I had everything apart, now thinking of dismantling all to put the new wires now that is working fine, is a PITA, but has to be done) ...if all wires are well there, first check they are well connected at the plugs, just focus on those two; if they are well connected move on to check the plugs, you might want to check it when is dark, so you can catch a spark, if any; that was the sign for me, and I was able to see it cause I worked into the night and looked at tje engine while running, bummed out that it was still misfiring, I wasn't looking at it to catch a spark. So do that, hopefully you run the same luck I ran and you've got a cracked pluga, most likely in Cyl 8, which somehow makes Cyl 4 react. Good Luck and let us know. ;-]#
...as LR03NJ says, I'm up and running alright, but a couple new things I've been hearing and seeing that I may be asking questions about in new threads.
First is a clanking sound when turning the wheel completely to either left or right as I drive slowly -I first heard it a couple days back, when turning the wheel completely to either side as I drove into a parking spot, or my garage, now I'm very aware of it, and besides hearing it, I feel the clank, it might just be getting worse.
Second issue is the recent appearance of P1171 & P1174 codes. these first appeared yesterday while driving back from work ...fuel light came on -I already know that I can run nearly 30 miles after it goes on, so was planning to fill her up on my way to work next morning- but before arriving home, I stopped at a nearby supermarket and that's when the SES light came on. Both codes appeared then under "logged" and "pending" faults.
I cleared them after filling up my truck today, and as I arrived home, SES light hasn't come on, but the codes appear under "pending".
For some reason I thought hey were related to running low on fuel, but after doing a little research, it has to do with running on "lean fuel" -more research is in docket to know what this is all about- from what I've read so far people suggest to check for loose vacuum hoses, even to check if plenum's bolts are torqued well.
Knowing I had to take half the top part of engine out, makes me think I might have left something loose, disconnected or simply not tightened. I did not replace the upper plenum gasket when changing the coils, didn't have one at hand, nor did I know I would end up taking it all apart, so never planned to get a new gasket.
I don't feel the truck running awkward, it just feels as usual... so not sure how these codes are affecting the driving... thing is that the "clank" seems far more serious than the codes.
