Default Squeeky Breaks NORMAL or NOT?

I have an 03 Disco bought certified with 25000 miles. The rear pads were replaced and the front pads are said to have 90% left.

Yet, I hear an annoying squeek from the front passenger's brake.

I brought it to the dealer and they told me due to the fact that it is a metallic disc brake system the squeeks are normal...

ANY FEEDBACK FROM OWNER/DRIVERS here at the forum? Any help would really put my mind at ease.

MANY THANKS! J.P.

I don't know about what the dealer told you, but you could have leftover brake material in there causing it. Pull tire off and check pads out, also hit em with a little brake cleaner. The one time i talked to the dealer about a prob. he pretty muched B.S.'d me an was wrong.

Normal, try doing A few aggressive stops in A safe area. This will take the glaze off. The brakes are designed to be used aggressively. If you use them lightly, they will make noise.

i do have the warranty...i drove up to my local dealer (during lunch hour) it takes about 45 minutes to get there...and he tells me "there's nothing i can do, this is normal."

i was like, "maybe you should have told me that when i booked the appt.?"

which leads me to my next post...please check forum...

are your front brake discs scored as we have had a few where they make squeak noise but not after skimming the discs..

Right, people pay 45k for a rig that has the brakes squeal. Neither my 92 RRC or my 95 P38 have ever squeaked the brakes.

you could remove the brake pads and coat the back side of them with anti-sqeek compound. it always works for my cars
