Default Squeal/sqeak in the engine bay

I just started to have a squeal noise coming from the engine bay. It is a squeal at startup and then goes to a sqeak, sqeak sound until it warms up. The belt is new. Could it be the water pump? Bad belt? Once the engine is warmed up it goes away. This just started the yesterday. I replaced the expansion tank to radiator house because the line felt brittle and I did not want to chance it failing on the road. Could some coolant have gotten on the belt and caused this? Any ideas.

This is on a 04 D2 with 67K miles.

Thanks.

My water pump when it started going out had a sound like a super charger until it was warm.

Did you replace the belt tensioner when you replaced the serp belt?

its got to be a tensioner, roller, or pulley on one of your belts. maybe if the belt is new something may not have been tightened enough, or too much.

start the engine open up the hood and look for something either loose or not moving as freely..

I was just thinking that it could be the belt, tensioner or a roller. I think I will replace the belt and then go from there. I checked the water pump to see if there was any play it and it all is tight there. I did not think to replace the tensioner but might as well to be on the safe side.

I had the same thing and so I ordered the Tensioner / Idler Pulley Kit from AB. Here is the link http://www.roverparts.com/Parts/ERR6439K.cfm. This and a new belt and the squeak was gone for me.

Good Luck-
