Default Squishy Rear End

No, I'm not talking about my girlfriend. I'm talking about my mistress.

2003 Disco 2 that has developed a rather noisy butt. Whenever I go over something even as tame as a dip in the road or a speed bump, the rear end produces a pronounced groaning/squishing sound.

Since this is a new acquisition for me (though it's recently had about 8k worth of work done and is otherwise a beaut) I already plan on doing a suspension re-vamp as the truck has about 160k on the body. New bushings, at least. The front sounds fine but is the rear showing signs of bad shocks? Wondering if this is a common issue. Can't tell by sight what's wrong.

Grew up in a household with many OLD Rovers and have seen the work my dad puts into them. I'm new to the forum so will be asking many more questions I'm sure, on both of our behalves.

Could be the watt's link bushings, sway bar links, or blown out shocks.

Do you have air suspension or coils?

Coils! Not sure exactly when it was converted but I can track it down.

Also, and I'm sure I'll get hollered at for missing this thread somewhere, but I haven't quite found a definitive opinion on replacement bushings. What is the general consensus for these trucks? Stick with OEM rubber? I'm looking at the Bearmach blue poly kit...people seem to like them? I thought I'd read a ton of threads on these bushings but opinions seem sharply divided.

The S model came without air suspension, only with coils, do you have that model? They may be original springs and shocks. I would start there if that is the case and then see what you have. You can get replacement OG springs if you are not seeking to go heavy duty or lifted.
