Default SRS light on after Shuttle Valve Switch replacement

I was getting the random 3 amigo's light on the last few months so I bought a used Foxwell NT510 to read the ABS codes. It showed a "Shuttle Valve Switch Electrical Failure". I ordered a new Wabco Shuttle Valve switch from Lucky 8 and replaced my original with it. Upon startup after I replaced the switch, I didn't have any of the 3 amigo's, but the SRS light came on. I read the codes for it and it was showing "Open Circuit Fault in Passenger Airbag Circuit". Does anyone know if this could be related to the new Shuttle Valve Switch or where to look to get the SRS light to go out? I've erased the airbag codes with the Foxwell scanner, but the came right back on showing the same problem.

I don’t think they’re related. I had the same fault on mine. I disconnected and reconnected the plug for the pax airbag. The fault went away for a couple of months. I did it again and the light has stayed out for the better part of a year now.

I disconnected the battery and took the glove box out. I disconnected the yellow connector going to the passenger airbag and sprayed it down with CRC contact cleaner and plugged it back in. SRS light finally is staying off.

Yes Jim, those connectors are finicky. About twice a year I'll get a drivers side airbag fault, I found it to be the connection right next to the OBD2 port (I think my foot hits it sometimes) I just reach down and touch it and the light goes out. Maybe next time I'll try a cleaner on it.

i had to do something similar to my 2000 P38 Range Rover.

SRS light came on. the fix was to disconnect the battery and then disconnect each yellow SRS connector and spray them down with electrical contact cleaner. reconnected them all, reconnected the battery and all was good.
