Stalled out twice in 2 days!
99 Discovery II (56K) stalled out after filling the gas tank up after hitting empty. After 10 mintues of trying to start (rapid click, clik, click), I let it rest for 5 mintues and it started. Next morning took it out and it stalled after driving around for 1/2 hour. After second stall (which had been accompanied be a jerk) the engine light came on as well. My garage says the codes are for multiple misfires. It should be noted that I had the plugs and wires replaced 7 months ago and 2 months ago I had the service light come on and then eventually go off by itself (again misfire codes, but never stalled out). Did a test and the fuel pump is working as it should, and they are doing a sevice where the fuel system gets flushed out.
I just feel that there is something else wrong here. I almost feel the garage is just waiting for me to say "do this" or "do that" becuase they don't want to be on the hook for something major that isn't going to fix the problem. Does this sound like an ignition coil problem to anyone? Is that something the garage should be able to tell if I tell them I am curious about it?
Thanks for any help

Never run an electric fuel pump out of gas, you can fry it pretty easily.
Might consider replacing the fuel pump relay first, see if that helps
Check the fuel pressure when the engine has stalled.
Also see if you can get the exact fault code numbers, they are important when trying to trouble shoot a problem and in the case of a misfire on a Disco, there are probably 20 different fault codes for a misfire.

I agree, I would check the fuel pressure (fuel pump). There is a fuel line tap on the fuel rail you can use. As a simple test, you can use a screw driver to release pressure on the rail to see if there is any pressure when it stalls. That will at least tell you if the pump is working OK.

For those wondering....
after 2 more stall outs, the problem has been idenitified and fixed. It was the Cam Sensor.

Also you mentioned you had a problem starting the truck and had a rapid clicking sound which to me indicates a weak battery/starter problem.
