Default Stalling/Fuel Pump Questions

I am having an issue with stalling in D, may stall in other gears, but have not witnessed it. Happens once a drive, usually towards the beginning engine is warming up, and it starts back up.

When starting back up I have to push the accelerator to get it to start, which upon first start up it does not have to.

The only other symptom which may relate is that the gas gauge rises as it warms up, it is very cold in Chicago right now.

My questions are if this has happened to anyone else, and the fix obviously. To me, it seems like the fuel pump is starting to go. I am going to stop at Autozone and get a fuel pump tester today, and do a little research in the RAVE.

Well, that sucks.

Apparently the rockauto replacement pump is supposed to be good

Yeah, especially since it is bitter cold out there.

I’ve used a few ebay 45.00 fuel pumps for SAI D2’s and zero issues with them. Not sure if they’ll last 20 years, but 45.00 vs 500.00.

Does this sound like a bad fuel pump in your opinion? I am going to pick up a pressure tester.

I recently had an 03 that stalled in gear once warmed up and it was a dirty/stuck IAC. Normally with a failing fuel pump it’ll idle fine, but act up under load or higher RPM’s.

I just went out and checked the Fuel Gauge against the Ultragauge Blue. The gauge on the dash is reading a bit over 1/4 tank and the Ultragauge 15 Gallon or 58% full.

The last time it stalled it had more gas than now, and the time prior much less. I am wondering if the malfunction is sending an error and stalling.

Going to research now.

The Ultra-Power one? It is 52.79 and tempting, Bosch is 146.79. Going to check for Fuel Pressure and for corroded wiring first.

Just recently cleaned my IAC. Maybe she is on the way on out. Did that one start up again right away?

Went and filled up the car and the gauges on the Ultragauge did not move. So prolly a red herring there, and the Fuel Level only goes to 15.

The IACV is a Buzzing, doesn't mean it ain't stuck but it's got power.

Couldn't get it to stall.
