Starting issues
My discovery 2 fuel pump went out, I bought a new one my husband put it in, it started right up ran for maybe 20 miles, died while we were driving it and haven't been able to get it to start again. Any ideas on what could be going on?
Yes we checked the fuel pressure, and yes a new seal was put on with the new fuel pump. We had a mechanic look at it and he couldn't figure it out, he said he thinks it's the computer and he says it needs reprogrammed. I'm not a mechanic but I don't think that's the problem.
OK, as you I doubt its a computer issue.
If you mechanic does not have the proper ability to diagnose the problem, and you want to throw parts at it, I would change out the Crank Position Sensor.
Since you mechanic is not well versed in LR, you need to make sure he puts it on correctly, sensor, Spacers, nuts.
Good luck

Like Abran mentioned, crank position sensor. Im my experience, the trucks starts and runs with no problem. Then, i stopped and wont crank anymore. I waited till engine cools up and starts again. Worst scenario is while youre driving and stalls. Had that before and even bought a fuel pump.
