Steel Bumpers for Disco II
Hello everyone, thanks for your previous comments on "Transmission Maintenance". Moving on, the time has come to replace my bumpers. I do like my original look but it doesn't make sense to chase down or buy new OEM bumpers. So I went to Atlantic British and saw the bumpers they offer for $599. ea Front and Back.... I want to stay as traditional/classic as possible, any thoughts or suggestions?
Looking forward to your feedback and suggestions.....

If you are never going off road I think the Britpart with no winch may be your best bet. Does not stick out as much as bumpers that hold a winch and is factory looking as you are going to get with a steel bumper.
I have the winch-mount Britpart front bumper on my D2. It's a solid bumper, and probably the best value if going for a winch bumper. However, it does look pretty dumb IMO if you don't have a winch on it
I got the TerraFirma winch bumper from Lucky 8. I don’t plan to install a winch, but I wanted the option. It doesn’t stick out like other winch bumpers and I think looks really good. Several other suppliers have the same bumper.
I got the little lady the cheap front and rear bumpers from eBay, she wanted a winch and will never use it. Not sure she even knows how to use it. It's absolutely for looks only, just like her sliders and ladder. I think it was 900 for both. Many who install winches never hook them up due to the odd disco 2 battery terminal set up. Be prepared for some terminal modifications. I parted out an V8 inboard boat and saved all the battery cables many years ago for just such projects.
I still want to do some cutting/welding to the back bumper to make it fit the rear qtr panels better and use some steel to box in the corners where there's currently old ill fitting plastics. I'll eventually get there.
