That BMW does look good though. Mine is where the beige shows the worst. Especially on the top part. I've looked for all black because I've even thought of swapping the center console to black to contrast it a bit better. But we will see. I wanna get it over to sportsman camo covers in Columbus, Ms and have them make me a custom set of seat covers for the ole girl.

Yeah it was my first try at doing something like that and it turned out acceptable. I can't seem to find any bespoke kits for the Disco wheel, which surprises me (the one I posted pics from was a specific kit for that wheel).

There is a local shop that does leather wheel refinishing and I'm going to call them tomorrow to,see what they charge. If it's u der $200, I think I'll do that.

Ok and like I said, when they get back with me on that website, I'll post the quote. Heck I'd been fine if the did it all black but I know my top is rough where you can tell the po was driving one armed and his watch started to rear at the leather

$299 for smooth leather and $325 for smooth beige and perforated black. They don't have perforated in any other color

I've kinda got a wild idea. All of my steering wheels in my D2's currently are in great shape (replaced em when I bought em), however I still have the originals that have the brown leather top/bottom and another grey top/bottom. The black leather on both is perfect. When I'd bought that 04 D2 for it's off road parts a month or so ago. The previous owner had wrapped the top/bottom with green paracord. It was not a fancy perect job by any means but that got me thinking.

If I removed say the tan top/bottom leather and tightly then wound some paracord top/bottom I think that would be cool. I liked how it felt on my hands and I'm sure it would hold up great!

I knew a lot of Jeep guys that did excellent paracord grab handles n such. Just an idea I had.

Yea that's not a bad idea. I got a bunch of desert camo para cord and a good cobra weave or slip hitches would look slick on an off road vehicle. Shoot up some pics if u do it

What type of glue are you using? Curious as I am about to replace the boots and was thinking about rubber cement from the craft store but, wasn't sure if it would hold and the reaction to the leather.

I think it sounds like a really cool idea. I'd prefer the leather as I just prefer it, but I do carry a bit of paracord I the Jeep and the front hoop of the rack is wound in it.

$325 seems a bit steep, so I'll be interested to hear what the local guy comes back with. But I guess that's probably about right.

My local army surplus shop has about every color of paracord under the sun. You could do black even. I'd cut out the old brown part so the paracord would sit down some and wrap it super tight.

It might be worth spending a few bucks on a junkyard wheel and giving it a go. The grip would be great and it would look all tacticool.

It also would never wear out and cost $5 to fix if it did. Yo are starting to convince me... PLEASE post pics if you do it.
