Steering Wheel volume controls
I recently purchased a 2005 Freelander that came w the stock 6 disk changer however the steering volume controls aren't working. I was wondering if there was a wire harness that i needed to purchase or it the 10ish pin harness is the only connection necessary?
No one really responds to the FreeLander section... Probably should try a freelancer forum. Good luck.
If you have the stock radio still in, it is either a bad connection in the back, or could possibly be a rotary coupler.
You'll need to pull the radio and check the connections in the back. If they all look good, then my bet would be the rotary coupler. I'm not sure about the Freelander, but if you have cruise control on your steering wheel as well, and that starts not working, then it is definitely the rotary coupler.

Yeah. I read that the engines blow up.
I probably would not trust an LR2 either.
It is incredible that the Land Rover Brand was not damaged even more by putting out such junk of a vehicle.
Having sleeves in the D1 an D2 bounce around is bad enough.
Our 1997 D1 is approaching 160K miles.
Head gaskets at 138,000. At least it is still serving. I have had a better experience with the D1 as far a miles per money spent fixing problems - than the D2.
