Sticky Ignition Switch After Transfer Case Change
It was 19 degrees yesterday morning, with a windchill bringing it closer to 9°F...so with that being said...nothing is "super simple and takes just seconds to do". Everything here is "super difficult and takes ten times longer than it should"...lol.

earlier this year we had an 04 cast installed in our 03, the guy that installed it put in the shifter rotated 90 deg clockwise. the key would not come out due to the transfer case. it took me almost 5 hours to prove to him it wasn't right. then they rotated it to the proper position and viola it all worked!

Here is an update. It is appearing the transmission cable tension could be the root cause.
I now slightly jiggle the P in the transmission lever if the key happens to get stuck in the ignition lock. It has been working to get the key out. Looks like a new ignition switch replacement is not needed.
The shop performed a transfer case change recently and they could have made the transmission cable a little too tight.

Loosen the 13mm nut on the XYZ switch that connects the PRND321 assembly to the XYZ switch, and take up 2mm of slack. If you aren't certain how much to do then use a marker on the rod before you loosen it to help in getting the adjustment right. I know I don't live up north, but I've done this adjustment in a gas station parking lot with a red hot engine/exhaust and it took me just a few minutes, then you'll be home free after that.
Also what Deputy suggest as I have seen dimes be a PITA under some PRND321 shifter bezels. That takes 10 seconds to inspect! Just be gentle when removing the assembly. Yank the Shifter **** straight up, then gently pull up on the bezel and then you'll either find a ton of treasure or maybe some old food lol.

I haul my sons around in the Disco. I bet there will be coins, potato chips, used band aids, dirty socks, etc ....
Thanks again guys!
