Block test: open the cap when cold, stick the specialized tool on the front of your face in the opening of the coolant bottle, inhale small amount of air through nostrils, note aroma, cotton candy = ok, gas/exhaust = combustion gases in coolant system = head gaskets or the such...

Radiator test: take the fan off, run the car till needle is in the middle, feel all around the radiator with the special tool attached to the end of your arm. The radiator should be somewhat uniformly hot all the way up and down, you are looking for large amounts of cold veins, signaling clogs.

If the radiator is hot all the way across, your coolant is circulating. I would then look at the fan clutch as a possible problem.

If the radiator is hot on the inlet and cold on the other you have a flow problem (If the engine is sufficiently hot to fully open the thermostat)

If the radiator is hot on the top and cold on the bottom or vice versa, or has large amounts of cold veins (10 - 20) the radiator is clogged.

your saying you don't have any heat in the vehicle, it may be the system has large amounts of air in it, or the coolant is not circulating. so keep in mind the waterpump bypasses the radiator/thermostat in pumping coolant through the heater core. pointing more towards mega amounts of air in the system or you put the belt on the waterpump running it backwards.
