Doesn't sound like a lifter. Too frequent and sounds a little like a double tap. Hard to tell on video. I'm thinking cam bearing, maybe rocker?

 

thanks for the help so far, so am i fine with keeping the hoses the way they are i dont notice any cracks or leaks so i wont replace unless i have to. i will swap out the coolant . ill have to get around to looking at the lifter ill do more research and get back to this thread

 

You're partially correct.

That plastic T with the bleeder I believe is a factory part also.

They moved the bleeder from the shroud hose to that T because the failure rate in that shroud hose was too high.

I bought my T fitting from the local Rover dealer and it came in a Rover bag.

If you want a better sense of security I would swap the fitting and that hose but hey that's just me.

I've actually seen 2 hoses in the last couple years in the junkyard with that bleeder "patch" blown out of the hose. This makes me wonder if that bleeder hose failed and overheated the truck, hence why they were in the yard.

 

I have the same issue. Fine on start up and will pop up randomly. Mine is located in the front passenger side valve cover, as near as I can tell. I recently replaced the PCV hoses and the oil separator (128k) and it does seem to have helped reduce the frequency of the tick popping up. I'm going to do the VC gaskets as soon as it warms up here in the northeast. I m hoping that it might just be from a clogged oil passage or the baffle in the valve cover has worked itself loose.
