Default Still low oil pressure after replacing oil pump

Still having low oil pressure issues after replacing front cover which had a broken outer ring gear in the pump. I replaced all of the main and crank bearings except for the rear main bearing. I have no idea why I still have issue with oil pressure. Any ideas?!!!

Someone else recently had a similar problem and they suspected cam bearings. The thread shouldn't be buried too deep.

i'm having the same problem even after 2 engine rebuilds...

let me ask you some questions...

-did you have a tapping sound coming from the engine or was it just a low oil pressure light? have you replaced the oil pressure sensor?

- how did your main bearings look, if they were bad ..ie copper was starting to show then your rods shoulda been even worse correct?

- unless you have a cracked oil galley (doubtful) , or an extremely mis-installed front cover gasket.... id venture to say that.........

your cam bearings are probably toast!!! since they are one of the last parts to be lubed by the oil pump, the broken oil pump dint get enough pressure to the bearings and now you need them replaced!!!!

my engine wont make oil pressure and i have all new bearings (except cam) and a new oil pump/front cover. new bearings come unfinished which means they must be installed in the block and they line hone matched to each bearing section of the cam (if i'm correct)

at that point the block must come out and you will need to rebuild the engine, unless you don't want to take advantage of the the opportunity.

if i were to do it all over again...... and avoid spending the $ 6000 i've spent already...

call up auto sports unlimited in zeeland, Michigan they sell reman. engine for $ 4000.00

they will sell you a 4.6 long block with NEW sleeves, new oil pump and its comes with a 1 year parts warranty. not to mention that.... THEY DO NOT USE 2003-2004 4.6 BLOCKS . they use 4.6 range rover blocks from 99-02

great guys, i talked with them on the phone for like 2 hours... i wish i had the money to go back in time and buy their engine!!!!

anyone else wanna comment about the line hone cam bearing thing? my engine guy says thats what he is gonna do?
