Hello all.

2002 Discovery II SE 155k

Truck has no heat.

I've replaced the:
Thermostat, Water Pump, Engine Temperature Sensor

I've flushed the:
Radiator, Heater Matrix

Bleed the System and still no heat. Any Ideas what I've missed or should look at next to get some heat back to the truck?

What are your engine temps looking like? Might be some air trapped in the system.

 

If you are low on coolant won't have heat.

Heater hose in / out should be warm, in should be warmer. No valve to turn them off, flows whenever engine runs.

 

No waterfall sound?

You may have a control issue with the heating control panel.
When you move it to HI - would think it will move valves and air vanes to give you heat.

There is a little air fan that measures heat in the cabin of the truck.
If that is dead... how would it affect the heat?
As it samples the air.

This is above my experience level and I admit it.

As a last resort - try my hack bleeding method.
Unclip the coolant bottle.
Put it up high.
Put a roll of shop towel below it to hold it up high.

Take OFF the cap.

Run the truck at 1,200 RPM for about 10 minutes.
The level will go DOWN if air is bleeding out.
Fill it to a little below the COLD line.

Put the lid on.
Put the bottle back.
Check for heat.

 

have you opened the hood and checked to two heater hoses that run into the heatercore to see if you have heat there?

I now have a truck in the driveway with 5-9 inches of snow on it. I'll get back to all of you once I dry her off and toss her in the garage.

A few weeks back we had a member dealing with outdoor repair in northern Alberta, at minus 32F.

 

Ok,

I started the truck up and let er run for a bit. Dashboard temp reads 50%. Hose on the top right of the thermostat is hot, Left, not so much. I didn't feel any heat on the heater matrix hoses, they seem cold, but could feel the pressure built up in them as the engine ran. I don't have a way to check the temperature of the different hoses other than by touch.

Once the temperature rises, coolant begins spewing out of the small hose at the coolant tank that runs to the radiator.

Bad Stat? Bad Pump? I'm lost.

 

When was the last time you replaced the cap on the coolant tank? Also, when the truck warms up, are the hoses ROCK hard? When you say the small hose, is it the hard plastic one? That usually breaks very easily.
