Default Stock CD changer mod?

i have a 99 Disco I with a CD changer that i never use. Is it feasible/easy enough to splice the changer's wiring harness and put an ipod connector at the end of it. In an ideal world i'd run the wire up into the glove box where the ipod connector would charge my iphone and utilize the aux input on my factory stereo to play my ipod. If anyone has a wiring guide for the cd changer i'd be willing to try this as i dont really mind losing the cd changer if i FUBAR the project. thoughts?
Thanks,
Ryan

i looked pretty hard for the write up, i was trying to avoid redundancy but wasnt able to find one. Do you remember what section it was in, im willing to look again.
As far as roverland, ordering the part just takes all the fun out of it doesnt it?

Thanks for the info

this is what i used in my 03 disco, it's called GROOM AUDIO IPOD INTERFACE i use my ipod all the time and i've tried it with my iphone and it also works perfectly, you control everything from the stereo as if you were using the cd, and cd1 cd2 cd3 cd4 and so on it will be your playlist on the ipod, it charges it and it shut it down when not in use, i can provide pictures if you want, it connects behind the radio where the cd changer plugs in, so no more cd changer after all you're going to have a lot more music on your ipod/iphone

the link takes you directly to the groom audio page, you might find it cheaper on ebay

Thanks a ton for the help guys, i've seen a few people on here who've had success with the grom box. I found as i started to consider something like that at (or around $80) why not get all the functionality out of the phone and have it connect via bluetooth for phone calls for around $200. So now im thinking since it doesnt sound like an easy splice job, maybe go the crutchfield way. If i do end up with the new head unit and an external mic, i'll be sure to take pictures (maybe at the same time i do my saggy headliner) when i route the mic up the a-pillar and over the headliner.

Thanks again
Ryan
