Default Stony Lonesome OHV Park Cullman AL

Went to Stony Lonesome this week outside of Cullman AL. It had been raining pretty heavily for a week and the park finally opened on Friday. My friend and navigator/technical advisor, Larry, made this video with his phone. Funny narration - trying to mimic the old "Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom" videos.... The trails we ran were mainly the "advanced" with a couple of "extreme" trails for good measure. We ran solo and most of the really gnarly stuff we didn't bother filming - too busy. Never had to use the winch and never had to lower the tire pressure - was really impressed with the Rover's offroad capability - the hills we are climbing in this video are really wet and steep - last one finishes up at about 45 - 50 degrees.

Thanks for the tip NiteTrain - we'll definitely check those out next time I go over. Posting a few stills for folks. Also, you can check out the park at:

Great video and great looking truck! I see that you have 265/75r16's those come in at about 31.6 inches ( let me know if that is wrong) and I was wondering if the HD springs you have gave you much lift. I have a 2000 on 18's and I am trying to figure out if I can squeeze 31's under it with no lift. Thanks.

Yes, the RTE Springs gave me a 2-inch lift which was necessary to mount the larger tires. I haven't had any issues with tire rub with this setup. Glad you liked our attempt at "Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom." Truck looked better before we started - we took a wrong turn on a couple of ATV-Only trails and scratched the heck out of it in the process - a good time was had by all though!

Great, thanks for the info. I will take a look at those springs. Is the install something you tackled yourself? Again great, fun video. I will be on the lookout for more Wild Kingdom clips.

They'll fit but you'll more than likely rub a lot under articulation. 30" is about the biggest you can fit with no rub, but a lift is always worth it Even with 2" lift you can fit 32" and on some lifts 33" no problem.
