Default stops like an M3...

.. I remember reading a thread about brake pads/rotors that "made the disco stop like an M3".

What kind of pads/rotors stuff would help out in braking distance??

Thanks!

Uh, nothing. You could get Pagid Reds or Bluesand Brembo or Stop-Tech calipers (Easy $3000) and the Disco still wouldn't be close to a "sports car" in braking.

Think about the 5200lb Disco with a very high center of gravity .vs a 2900lbs car much lower.

If you want to stop like a M3, you will have to buy one.
Stopping a very heavy vehicle like the L2 with it's top heavy weight still will require plenty of room.
I am sure if you could stop a Discovery on a dime it would pitch/pole.

Hitting a wall at 60 mph would probably stop it real fast, its about the only thingI can think of.Disco brakes are not that bad considering all the weight.Comparing it to the stoppinghability ofan M3,well it is simply not comparable. Those babies can stop fast and even go faster. If you want to go fast I suggest you try a Jaguar XJR,that is a fast mother.

oh well, I know that.. but all I am referring to is a comment someone made about a specific pad/rotor brand.. It's time for atleast new pads, so I'm looking for suggestions of good pads that will decrease my stopping distance... if there are any..

or, should I just go back to the dealer for new pads???

Don't waist your money on DBA's and Kevlar pads, they are for for off road use.
Drop a set of ceramic pads from Auto Zone and flush the brakes, you'll be set.
