Default Storing outdoors with no water pump?

I just acquired a D2 that I won't be able to begin working on for the next 3 months. The issue is there is no water pump on the engine and due to a seized/bent/welded water pump bolt, I won't be able to put the water pump back on easily either. Should I be ok to store this outside for 3 months without causing myself headaches down the line?

It’s probably worth sticking something in to the open ports or at the very least taping them off (with painters tape so you can remove it later with minimal residue on the gasket surface). I would be worried about something crawling in that dark, moist environment and building a nest or some sort.

Thanks for confirming my concerns. I know what I'm doing tomorrow.

If you are worried about something building a nest.. steel wool will keep most everything out.
