Default Storing a Parts Truck

Hello!

Just wondering if anyone has advice on storing a parts truck (ground cover, blocks, tarps, covers, fluids drained or left in, etc.)? I live in Canada by the way.

Thanks!

I would at least use a tarp over it. I would say it all depends on how long you plan on storing it and what parts you plan on salvaging off of it in the future if you want to dran fluids or not. You mite want to also put some fuel stabilizer in the tank and run it a few minutes (if it runs) to get it circulated in the system.

Typically a parts truck does not run, so drain the fuel and put that into your truck.
Then just park it, maybe put blocks under the axles to keep the tires from going flat and sinking into the ground.
If you drain the fluids things will rust.
If you put a tarp over it it will hold moisture against the paint and turn moldy.
cars are meant to sit in all kinds of weather, its a parts truck, do just like the junk yards do, park it on blocks and forget about it.
Now long term storage with the intent to drive it in "X" amount of time is a different thing altogether.

Information from call from DiscoMike

Storing a Parts Truck:

-Take the battery out
-Add a gas additive for storage
-Pull the spark plugs, drop 10 drops of engine oil into each cylinder, put plugs back in
-Tires: air to 40 lbs, cover with canvass
-Cover the truck as best as possible -try to make air tight - seal with tarps and ropes all sides, underneath, etc.
-Bait for mice especially on the top of the tires
