Default Stranded (ONCE AGAIN) by my DII.

and it's a Friday with good ol' Northern Va. traffic with all of the holiday shoppers out. Did I mention it's cold andraining outside of my truck?

Here's the deal this time...

I'm stranded w/ my laptop & my OBDII in a parking lot. I havethe codes for 02 sensor and theghostly 1590 (manuf. control veh. spd idle spd control auxillary inputs) code. I stopped at McDonald'sfor a few minutes, came back out and my truck won't start. It turns over like it wants to start, but it doesn't start. I don't want to kill my battery. Any clues would be very much appreciated! My wife's bringing my jump starter, I'll give that a try first. She's an hour away- with no traffic.

I guess I'll be canceling our shopping plans for tomorrow to fix this dang thing.

It's a 2000 Disco II with 150,000 miles on it.

Thanks.

is there a parts store nearby? If there is pick up a $3 can of starting fluid and a $5 spark tester, they will help narrow down what the problem is. good luck.

Hey NiteTrain,

Yeah, there's a few Olympus's and AutoZone's around there. I already called to see whattheir hours are tomorrow. I don't guess that could hurt if I give that a shot for 8 bucks, huh.

It almost seems like it's not getting fuel or something. I replaced the plugs & wires about three months ago, but I didn'tknow about the Magnacors until I had already switched them out.I think I still have my old plug wires. I may take them in case I just need to swap out a plug or two to get her home.

I'm also wondering if that mysterious 1590 code is catching up to me now.

Anyone else have any recommendations?

No spark = crank sensor
No fuel = fuel pump

No, I didn't get the truck home. It's still in Fairfax. I could never get itstarted. It sounded like it was on the verge of starting, but I sat there tryingto get it to start with probably 20 minute intervals in between foralmost 2 hours.

If I can't come up with some concrete ideas by 6:30am tomorrow morning then it looks like a 40 mile tow bill coming.

This sucks BIG TIME.
