ORIGINAL: Spike555

Sounds like the fuel pump.
Easy test that worked great in my VW with bosch injection to isolate a dead fuel pump: grab a cup and straw from the friend micky Ds, and fill it with some gas. Use the straw holding your finger over the top opening to release a thimble full of gas into five or six cylinders through the spark plug hole. then crank it over. if its the fuel pump it should fire right up for about 3-5 secs, then die as the gas is used up.

good luck mate!

if the check engine light doesnt extiquish after 6 seconds cranking yes fuel pump, its not like the good old days when they screamed for months before taking a dump. one last thing look at the fuel pump relay and pull it out, see if theres been a barbaque in there lately. scott

Update:

Well, made the hour drive back to my truck this morning. Still wouldn't start. I was gettingspark at the plugs though. I checked the fuel pump fuse and it was in great shape with no barbeques.I didn't remember to try the idea of putting as little gas in some of the cylinders. Decided to check with the Goodyear joint 60 yards from where my truckwas. They said if it's a fuel pump they can fix it. $103.00/hr labor charges. Oh boy! They also said they can just rollit straight down the parking lot right into their bays. That should be interesting. Dang, I forgot to tell themit's a heavy truck. I'm sure they'llnail me for an hours labor for rolling down the hill. I'm afraid this one's gonna hurt a bit.

RyanD2...thanks for your offer!I really appreciate that buddy.

$100+ an hour is about right, for someone who knows exactly what they are doing... The fuel pump requires a tank drop too. I justimaged the rave CD for the D2 if you wantit emailed to you in PDF. It's unreal. Atleast you can tell the goodyear guys what to do next. its 650megs about 4 hrs to dump on a broadband connection.... good luck with it man!
