Default Strange Coolant leak?? UPDATE!!

UPDATE!,Ok looks like the leak is comming from the drivers side head right below the first Exhaust port where the Head meets the block. Drips when cold and stops when Hot.

So looks Like some head Gaskets are Needed.

Question:1 what gaskets should I have installed?? it Seems Like the orignals are not so good, but I always like to use OEM parts on all my Stuff. is there a Better brand or has Landrover Acknowledge the fact this is a Issue? and have they done anything to fix the new Gaskets?

I have the weird Coolant leak i can not Locate. Standing infront of the 02 Discovery with 61K looking at the right side around what looks like the Powersteering pump, there is a High pressure hose Looks like a PS pump hose. Where the Hose meets the pump it looks like coolant is seping onto the Hose and splashing back onto the block. There are no Drips yet but the leak is Getting worse and acumulating on the block and then looks like it is getting blown back down the oilpan then on the tranny cross member.I have cleaned all the areas with a tooth brush but have yet found the Point of origin. Seems to use about 3 onces of coolant a month.

I have done all the Service on the 02 myself, I mean everything twice even changeing the brake fluid. I have had the vehicle since Aprial of 08 Purchased it with 55k.

You are going to have to clean the whole engine and then pressure check it.

I would bet it is the t/body pre-heater leaking , which is common and easy to fix.
Like Spike mentioned, go power scrub your engine so you can get a better look at what is leaking.
In the mean time, keep the coolant bottle full, right to the top not the cold line.

The proiblem is not with the gaskets themselves, it is with the coolant. DexCool is corrosive if not properly maintained. It is very acidic and it eats gaskets, I dont use it nor do I recommend using it.
LR recommends a flush and fill every 45,000 miles or 3 years, whichever is sooner.

Have you degreased the engine? Have you pin pointed the leak?

The coolant was flushed at 55,000 miles but it is still 6 years old, twice as old as LR recommends.

So have you been able to narrow down where the leak is coming from?
You may need to wait until the leak gets bigger before you can find it.
Have you tried to pressure test the cooling system?

I realize that I am not much help, but it is hard without actually being there.
I would start by checking the throttle body heater plate, that is a very common leak on DII's.

Yes I have found the leak. it is comming from where the head meets the Block on the drivers side right below the first Exhaust port. There is a Molded protrusion on the Block and the leak is comming from the head gasket right where the protrusion is.
