Default strange noise on 04 disco

have an 04 disco with 57300 miles and recently noticed a weird high pitch noise coming from the front end of the truck. the noise tends to get worse when i turn the steering wheel and is worse when the truck is cold just after startup. sounds like a straining loud high pitch sound everytime i hit the gas and turn the steering wheel. just noticed the noise about 2 days ago. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Go look at your belt, good possibility would be a bad betl and with your mileage a new belt tensioner and 2 idler pulleys, all of which do fail and cause a whine.
With your mileage, it is time for a 60K at which time you should flush the p/s fluid along with everything else.
