I heard a stange noise this morning. Almost like a bearing
going out. It sounded like the tranny maybe. Or maybe
transfer case. The discovery ran fine but Im worried about
the sound and things to come.
99 series 1, 107,000 miles.
What should I check.

You are going to need to be more specific, or wait till tomorrow, have someone start the truck while you are listening from under the hood.

 

OK i'll try to listen agian and get back to you. It's not constant, only happened 2-3 times.
It seemed to stop when I slowed down and did not start again when I accelerated.
But it came back later.
