Mike,
I left you a message yesterday. I will try you again next weekend.

I think it is getting a little worse....

Could dirty injectors or O2 sensors cause this type of problem?

Thanks,
Mike

This problem seems very much like my problem with my 96 131,000 miles runs great when cold stumbles after a good heat soak. The warmer the weather the worse it gets. I would like to get this thing figured out. DiscoMike if you have some ideasI would like to talk to you.

I am having the same issues with my 03 Disco with 45K miles. Has anyone really figured out this problem yet? My telephone number is 484-894-8420 if anyone has info.? I am new to this vechicle and already giving me trouble. How do you get to the back side of the plug wires? I will try seafoam hope that helps.

Hey, sorry this is a year later. I had the same problem in my '97. I tried everything: seafoam, plugs, fuel filter, etc.... I even had it at a Land Rover repair shop, and he could never get to do it at his shop..so it was difficult to diagnose. I know it was not the VSS, because I had already replaced it for another problem. I eventually replaced the battery, and that was the problem! It never did the low RPMat idle again....

My 04 Disco HSE had a problem which sounded like this... it was the coil pack. It also burned up 2 of the plug wires. I had been telling the dealership that there was a problem and that it was idling way rougher then it should. They tried to give me some BS about it being normal to idle rough.

Finally it was running really bad, so bad that you could not help but notice and acknowledge the problem.

Now over a month later....no idle issues. Amazing.

Gents,

For the idle hunting and other idle trouble check the system voltage when this happens, if irratic, replace the voltage regulator or install an external regulator on your alternator. Solves the idle hunting and stumbling 90% of the time.

Cheers,
CRV.
