I have a 95 disco with the dual sunroofs and the rear one works alright, could be better. but the front one does not work, when opening the driver side gets caught on something and will not open and slide back. also when closed you can push the back of the sun roof and it will pop open (it doesnot lock when fully down)
is this a common problem (I have heard that Discos are notorious for leaks around the sunroofs)
any tips on fixing it, or do I just need to spend a weekend fiddling with it and figure it out before the rains hit oregon.

 

The plastic bushings on the sunroof wear out and break off leaving lots of slop. This keeps the sunroof from closing tight around the gasket. I believe you have to replace the tracks.

 

So, when was the last time you cleaned and greased your sun roof? They will bind up from lack of service and brake parts.
