On my 97 Discovery I have the dual sunroofs. There are four little black fasteners that you screw up into from below through the rails. I have two that are stripped and one that is almost stripped. The stealer wants $23 each!!

Any ideas on aftermarket replacements?

I don't know if anyone else has had a problem with this or maybe someone will have a problem with it in the future but here's the deal...

If the little round sunroof fasteners strip out on you... they are probably only stripped about halfway in. The stock screws only go about halfway into those fasteners. Run to Lowes or Home Depot and buy the next size longer screw... you'll probably end up with allen head screws (at least I did... Lowes does not stock the torx head screws). So who cares... you use an allen wrench now instead of a torx wrench. Get yourself some locktite while your there... blue to hold well, red if you're brave and never want to take it apart again. I went with blue. Run the screw in and out of the fastener a few times to fix the threads. Now put it back toghether with some locktite and tighthen in good but not so much that the soft aluminum fastener strips out again.

So far so good with mine... 3 days so far and I've opened and closed the sunroof twice each day.
