Sunroof repair kits
I purchased a complete sunroof for parts and it doesn't match the one on my Disco 1. I should have suspected something when I only have one sunroof. My problem is getting to the tracks and drive as the window is closed, and I need to get to the screws from the top, with the roof open. I hate to force it as it doesn't leak and I don't have a garage... All it does is click when I hit the button so I suspect the drive gear is bad.
Howzit LRDR2&ME,
It sounds like I am having one of the problems you are describing here. The part of the frame where the two springs feed through and connect to the main cog of the motor has started to split causing the springs to separate too far to make proper contact with the cog. I'm wondering if this is the composite metal piece you describe. Anyway, are you still making replacements? If so, how can I obtain one?
Thanks

Presently working on makeing repair kits for Disco1 & 2 sunroofs. I have found the defect components and have a solution. I make things out of plastic. I have molds ready to replace the rollers and slides, along with the plastic piece that connects to the main gear spring. If you have a broken part, you can mail the parts to me and I will either re-mold a new stronger plastc piece to it or cast you a new and stronger part. Right now I'm working on the master for the roller chassis part. This part currently is made of composite metal. I'm makeing it stronger so it will not bend and break. If you have a broken or non working sunroof it is probably because the roller chassis bent/broke or the plastic piece on the gear spring broke off. My kit, which will be available here and on Ebay will be available in another week. Until then, if you have broken parts and your roller chassis is not damaged. I can replace your parts with new or re-molded parts. Pm me for more details.

Hey everyone! Just checking if anyone has had success here. I've just disassembled my sunroof assemblies and have high hopes to fully restore them to their original function. Yes I know that's a terrible idea...but I'm a Land Rover owner so it's all about the labor of love...right guys?
