Sunroof Tray
So I had some leakage when it would rain. Took it to my mechanic to see what the deal was, hoping it was the drain tubes clogged. Well, I just heard back and it was the sunroof tray. It's cracked. Apparently the part is 575 bucks and will take about 4 hours to install. All in all I am looking at a 1200 dollar job.
I am just wondering if this sounds INSANE to anyone. If maybe anyone else had this problem before. In the meantime I am going to talk to a Dealership and see whats up and also try to see if I can find the part anywhere else cheaper. Thanks.

Ouch. I don't know though I don't think I'd be willing to spend that much without at least attempting a fix on my own first. That's just me though, and honestly I've never really heard of a cheaper fix for that.
I know I would love to take a stab at it. I am just trying to find the part first. Which is a challenge in its own, unless anyone knows any good places to look that I have not visited yet.
That's a tough one to find. To be honest I'm not really sure of any websites that supply that. The only thing that comes to mind would be to try a junk yard, but finding a DII in a yard will not be easy.
Repairing the sunroof doesn't seem like it would be too tough except for get the headliner out and in without damaging it. I have seen complete sunroof assemblies on ebay for reasonable prices.
So RoverLandParts has the part. $150 baby. Amazing compared to the $575 I was told before. Now, this is where it may get tricky. Does ANYONE have any idea where the tray lives? What would even be the first step to begin this repair. I am hoping someone could maybe guide me in the right direction or if anyone has any familiarity with this. Thanks.
