Default Surprise! another Land Rover problem.

My 98 Disco I is having fuel issues.

About two days ago i was down to about a little under a quarter of a tank of gas so i decide i should stop.

So i start to fill it and it keeps clicking off like the tank is full...and when i keep pumping it in, it just spits out foam and gas All on the side of my fender.

I got about 10 gallons in before i just gave up. and it up to a little above half a tank.

Any explanations?!

First try another gas station.
If that is not it then your vent tube is clogged.

Did you fill it today at the same station that you tried to fill last time? I went to a different station last week to fill up and the pump gave me fits, about every 2 gallons it would back up and overflow. But, the next time I went to fill up I made it a pointto go to my normal filling station and all was well. Conclusion? Don't go back to the station with the high-velocity pumps, they're not Disco-friendly!

I have the same problem, some gas stations I cant use, no problem, I just wont go there.
If you are stuck and the pump is shutting off on you like that pull the nozzle out of the gas tank as far as you dare and go real slow putting gas in.
The pumps shut off by resistance, a air bubble coming up can shut them off as well as the gas not going into the gas tank as fast as the pump is pumping it.
